Abstract
Dragages et Travaux Publics was founded in Vietnam in 1902. In its early years, the company was active throughout the Indochina region, with one of its maiden commissions being the dredging of the Mekong Delta. From this experience came the expertise which qualified Dragaes for its first Hong Kong contract - the construction of the Kai Tak airport runway in 1955. Forty years on, and Dragages is a major presence in the territory. It comes as no surprise that the company is now working on some eight projects related in part to the construction of the new airport at Chek Lap Kok.
