Abstract
I got my first glance of Hong Kong a few years ago when my aeroplane was arriving at Kai Tak Airport from the U.S.. As I examined the rows and rows of dense high-rise apartment buildings, and wondered whether it was a single person, a couple or a family that lived behind every tiny window, I suddenly felt that the value of human beings in Hong Kong as rather diminished compared to western standards.
