Abstract
Bauhinia Blakeana: Common name Hong Kong Orchid tree. One of the most beautiful ornamental trees in Hong Kong. First discovered…in 1908 by the fathers of the French Mission, at Pok Fu Lam, and named after Sir Henry Blake, Governor of Hong Kong from 1898-1903. It was approved for use as Hong Kong's emblem in 1965. This species rarely produces seed and is thought to be a sterile hybrid.
