Abstract
SOS (Save Our Shorelines) propagated from one person emailing friends and neighbours in the community over what could be done to halt plans for Route 7. Had it gone ahead, the proposed highway would have hugged the coastline between Kennedy Town and Aberdeen, rendering it inaceesible to anyone other than those driving on it. SOS is now a fully-fledged organisation with a wide support base committed to protecting and enhancing the shorelines of Hong Kong. A recent event they organised takes a more pro-active stance.
