Abstract
The new building complex of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has made great use of TMCP (thermo-mechanical control process) steel, developed exclusively for building applications. This steel offers both high strength and is well-suited to welding. When used in highrise building construction, the tonnage requirement can be reduced by six to 10 percent of that of conventional steel. (1) Unique design (2) Design and appearance of offices (3) A new Metropolitan Government Office Building for the people (4) Use of new steel materials
