Abstract
Bangkok's acute traffic congestion poses for Thailand its biggest barrier to continued growth. The city snarl-ups are legendary; every month an estimated 5,000 new vechicltes join the jams. But help is at last on the way, in the form of new roads including north-south and east-west extensions to the existing dual-carriageway expressway.
