Abstract
Any significant building in the heart of Bangkok over the past 20 years has either been a shopping centre, a hotel or a combination of the two. So it was something of a surprise to see a strange, hat-shaped, virtually window-free construction appear in a space ideally situated for yet another glitzy emporium of luxury branded products and ubiquitous Thai look-alike designs.
