Abstract
The success of a construction procurement path is largely affected by the contracutal arrangement. How the contract to be administered and what dispute resolving mechanisms to be incorporated into the contract will significantly influence the tender price and the smooth running of a construction project. This paper starts with perceiving the need of contract and the uniqueness of construction contract. It then reviews some cases to study the relationship between contract risk and the dispute resolution mechanisms built into the different standard forms of construction contract in Hong Kong.
