Abstract
Design is an increasingly important competitive factor at a time when there is less and less differentiation between products in terms of technology and price. Innovative design is no longer reserved for the consumer goods industry but has become an almost self-evident aspect of our product and service culture. Industrial designer Professor Werner Sauer is regularly recruited by German office furniture giant Wilkhahn, and on a flying visit through Hong Kong, he gave designers the how and why of his design approach.
