Abstract
Acknowledgment of one's work by one's peers, even a commendation by a manufacturer for the discriminating use of its products, is the kind of reward appreciated by just about every professional, regardless of his status and experience within his chosen field.
In this second installment of its two-part chronicle, Building Journal presents the accolades of two local professional organisations - the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) and Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA) - and the Government's Architectural Services Department (ASD).
Summing up are prize-winning efforts related to the practice of building management and the expressions of gratitude made to recognise the special care taken by the developers and designers to make local projects fully accessible by the disabled.
HKIA Annual Awards 1989 Professionals and lay people in agreement:
(1) 1989 Silver Medal Award The Repulse Bay KNW Architects & Engineers Ltd
