Focus on the building developments in Southern China

Abstract
The China Development supplement II in this issue will give a detail account of the development of four important cities and economic zones at Southern part of China, namely - Guangzou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Xiamen. Valuable ideas through exclusive interviews with Chinese officials would enhance our understanding of these areas.

(2) Full size development of Guanzhou
The future development of Guangzhou includes 2 major projects. Firstly, the Tienho area will be built into a new city in order to release the pressure on Guangzhou city. Secondly, Guangzhou will expand gradually towards the Whampoa area planned on the East. It is planned to set up a medium size city with 3-400,000 population.
(3) A new face for Shenzhen
As the first and biggest economic zone in China. Shenzhen has a total area of 327.5 sq.km. Its establishment is to implement the new economic policy. Under favorite terms, foreign investment, advance technology, unique facilities and scientific management method are introduced to pace up development.
(4) Zhuhai Economic Zone - a good foundation and a promsing future
The Zhuhai economic zone was established in August, 1980. It occupies an area of 15.16 sq.km. At the SE of Zhuhai province. Situated next to Macau, Zhuhai includes the East (14.1 sq.km.) and West (1.06 sq.km.) regions.
(5) The bigger the economic zone, the cheper the managing expenses.
(6) Economic Zone extends to the whole peninsula of Xiamen
(7) Land development right open to foreign investors.
