Abstract
The designers of seven lighting projects came away with prestigious International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) Lighting Design Awards of Merit this year. The annual IALD awards recognise lighting designers and architects for their outstanding work in providing lighting solutions with innovative techniques. Two special citations were also awarded. This year's 141 submissions were judged according to a list of criteria, such as how well the design matches the mood and activity of the environment; whether the lighting is in harmony with the architecture; whether the lighting design is appropriate for the cuture of the geographic location; and whether the lighting design reinforces the architectural concept.
