Abstract
Hong Kong MTRC's Contract 680, otherwise known as Quarry Bay Congestion Relief Works, is a key element in the Corporation's future plans for the development of the SAR's rail network. As its name suggests, the project's immediate purpose is to relieve pressure from Quarry Bay Station as an interchange between the Kwun Tong and Island Lines once the Tseung Kwan O Extension opens in December 2002. Longer term, the project will form a crucial element of the MTRC's planned North Island Link. AAC's Turloch Mooney reports.
