Abstract
The Land Development Corporation (LDC) came into being in 1987 as the Government vehicle for replacing specified properties, to arrest some of the decay that was beginning to beset some older urban areas, producing what the world would call "slums."
It also has a mandate to preserve those structures that have architectural, cultural and community value.
Both types of jobs depend upon, and will continue to need, the wholehearted support of the private sector, in the form of financing, design and development.
