Abstract
Having been invited to participate in a national competition in 1986, the Vancouver office of John and Patrica Patkau was awarded the commission to design a new Canadian gallery for the display of ceramic and glass works. The project was to be built in Waterloo, Ontario on parkland next to the small city centre. It would overlook the neighbouring Seagram Museum and its significant distillery complex housing artifacts of the industry.
