Abstract
Four scholars, Ze, Yu, Li and Lei, who came to the understanding that "life" and "dealth" were one and the same thing, became very good friends.
Soon, , Master Yu became ill and his body was all twisted and distorted. Master Ze visited him and exclaimed: "Praise the power of the creator! Who could deform you so!" Master Yu staggered to a well and looked at his own reflection and exclaimed:"indeed, the creator is truly powerful to have deformed me so!"
Master Ze asked "Do you resent your deformity?""No!" replied Yu, "No matter what the creator changes me into, I would make the best of it. My gains are from opportunities; my losses are due to my obedience to nature. I am at ease with gains and at peace of losses. Thus neither fortune nor calamity would affect me."The ancients understood this law of nature. He who does not understood would become entangled with the material life. Matter has never defeated nature. Why should I resent my deformity?"
Soon, Master Lei was dying. His wife held him and his children wept around him. Master Li went in and said to Lei's wife: "Please be silent and leave him alone, so that you do not disturb the process of change."
The life and death of Modernism and Post-Modernism (Po-Mo) are both a continuation of the Hellenic civilisation as well as a pattern of alternate cycles.
