Abstract
Internationally renowned for decades as a world nucleus of plant study, the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, London, - affectionately known as Kew Gardens - has been greatly extended by the addition of the Sir Joseph Banks Centre for Economic Botany. The earth-sheltered structure is the first public building of its kind to be constructed in Great Britain.
