Abstract
Unique in Hong Kong in that it is a moderately high-rise building fully devoted to the fulfillment of shopping, dining and entertainment requirements, the Ronald Lu & Partners-designed London Plaza represents a concept that could be said to be not unlike Tokyo's world-famous Ginza area, albeit on a vastly reduced scale. One of those uses - entertainment - also hearkens back to the former purpose of the location, as the site of one of Hong Kong's grand old ladies of motion picture houses, the London Theatre.
