Abstract
The traitional contractual arrangement places great importance on contracts between client and main contractor, with architects, quantity surveyors and other professional advisers participating directly in the contract as agents of the client. Specialist firms are not parties to the contract and indeed, are somewhat remote from it. Often, these specialists operate as sub-contractors and are generally only in contract with the main contractor. In this second of two parts, Construction Commercial Services Ltd managing director Michael Salmon examines the effects and costs of contractual abuses and suggests a number of remedies that might help improve the contractual remoteness between specialist sub-contractors and clients. (1) Effects/costs of abuses 後果與代價 (2) Remedying abuse 補救方法 (3) Sub-contractor management (4) Selection of sub-contractors 選擇分包承建商 (5) Contract conditions 合約條件 (6) Control of attendances 控制配套 (7) Disbursement control 控制付款時間 (8) Interface management 界面管理 (9) Work area control 控制工作範圍 (10) Schedule control 控制進度
