Abstract
Travelling into the bowels of the Hong Kong Shanghai Bank building as it was being built was a bit like "descending into hell," recalls architect Ian Moore of his days in Hong Kong. "It was forty metres below ground and steaming hot." Moore has ascended a long way since those days. The firm he now runs in Sydney, together with business partner Tina Engelen, was recently named as one of 20 top emerging architectural practices in the world by The Architectural Review. Cathrin Schaer delves into their portfolio (1) Altair Apartments, King's Cross, Sydney (2) Rose House, Kiama, New South Wales (3) Price / O'Reilly House, Redferu, Sydney
