Abstract
The Headquarters of Bank of China was covered in the issue of February 2001 (Vol. 26) just before its opening in May 2001. I still remember the day - 1 October 2000 - when my colleague and I flew to Beijing especially for the project. Gerald Szeto and Mo Ping, two architects from Pei Partnership Architects, showed us around and introduced the design and construction of the whole project. That was the first time for us to cover their work in China and we were deeply moved by their being so cautious and conscientious in doing things. Today, with the materials of the project provided by Pei Partnership Architects and George C.T. Woo & Partners (Interior Design Consultants) on my desk, I was inspired to report it again with the aim of offering our readers another opportunity to explore the building once again, as I believe it is an excellent piece that is worthy of a second look.
