Abstract
Under the Hong Kong Standard Form of Building Contract, an Architect is required to issue a Final Certificate which could have major implication on the Architect. The topic was brought up and discussed by our member in the Inaugural Issue of the HKIA Journal in 1995 following decision of the CROWN ESTATE case. Several years since that case, there has been new development with case law and certain speculation on the meaning and implication of final certificates in different building contracts. In the following article, we have the benefit of sharing the professional views of the contributing authors on the topic.
