Abstract
Leigonella pneumophila, popularly called Legionnaires Disease, was identified in the US in the mid-1970s, receiving its name from the fact that the afflicted group on which the analysis was successful were members of the American Legion organisation of war veterans who had attended an annual convention. In the following, the Hong Kong co-authors describe the disease, the conditions needed for its development, the modes of transmission and a measure which can taken to ensure that a breeding ground can be identified.
