Abstract
Recent fires in older commercial and residential buildings have raised the issue of updating Hong Kong's fire safety codes. Building Journal spoke with Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) Building Services Division Charman Matthew MH Cheung and Fire Services Liaison Sub-committee Member Gilbert KC Law to discuss the current codes for buildings old and new, and issues that need to be addressed in future amendments.
