Abstract
Much attention has been lavished on the gleaming new MTR Airport Railway trains which will whisk travellers from Central to Chek Lap Kok in a mere 23 minutes. End-users will be more interested in the comfy seats and spacious luggage racks than the nuts and bolts of railcar maintenance. Yet where do these marvellous shiny conveyances go to get their bearings tweaked and their bushing oiled?
