Abstract
The Industrial revolution Anything modern and revolutionary in modern Western history had to stem from the Industrial Revolution, and Modern Architecture is no exception. The Industrial Revolution gave birth to an industry that required concentration of labour in factories, which, in turn, resulted in sudden concentrations and increases of population in the cities and the concentration of wealth in the hands of merchants and industrialists - a new middle class sandwiched between the aristocracy and the peasants.
