Abstract
With a pedigree which includes a 150 plus year heritage from the "Builders' Society of London" (in 1834) and a more current achievement as the largest of the several overseas organisations of the Chartered Institute of Building, the Hong Kong branch of the CIOB could well have been content to rest upon its laurels. Instead, they have chosen to inaugurate a new award scheme aimed at raising the professional standards of local building practitioners.
