Abstract
South Korea's construction industry has been facing increasing problems with its attempts to capitalize on the overseas market. In the past, the oil exporting countries of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Libya had provided openings to the Koreans, but since 1982, with the decline in oil revenues, this market has become increasingly difficult. On the home front, however, the development of Seoul itself and the construction incurred for preparation of facilities for the '88 Olympics is providing much needed work for the industry.
