Abstract
The rail links associated with the Airport Railway may change the face of Hong Kong development in a manner unseen since the original cross-harbour infrastructure. The new access to Tsing Yi and points west are the most obvious benefits, but the enhanced ease of access to other areas of Kowloon west are also important: the Tung Chung MTR line cuts Lai King-to-Central travel time from 22 minutes to eight-and-a-half. The net result will be increased development in the areas close to Tsuen Wan Line MTR stations and the new Route 3 Expressway.
