Abstract
Just as museums around the world are rethinking their role and purpose in society as they enter the 21st century, the National Museum of Australia and the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies decide to redefine their role as new museums opening in the new millennium. The designs could not get away with doing the same old museum concept with add-on new technology.
