Abstract
Briefed to give Ma On Shan's central shopping centre a distinctive theme, interior designer RMJM HK Ltd came up with a number of dieas. Going for a natural, light, leafy mall seemed to be the answer, and so Sunshine City was born. With rather more than 200 units and a department store to be fitted in, the mall needed something to distinguish it. It was also important that it should act as a focal point for the community, and a slightly park-like aura automatically fitted the bill. At RMJM, director Alex Chu has overseen the project, which is due to open by the end of this year.
