Abstract
There are many valid reasons for building refurbishment, ranging from the structural to the aesthetic and the commercial, as well as functional. And, in today's increasingly design-sensitive building environment, refurbishment means utilising materials, components and finishes which are attuned to this trend. Finally, and perhaps for help prevent a need for frequent refurbishment, the selected processes and systems should be flexible enough to allow for easy maintenance and expansion and updating requirements.
