Abstract
In an article earlier this year in Building Journal, Philip Walden, an associate with Baker & McKenzie, Solicitors, remarked that "the authorities are moving towards a more codified planning regime". This comment was made following the extension of the Town Planning Ordinance to the whole of Hong Kong rather than simply urban areas.
In this article, Mr Walden considers recent initiatives by the authorities as part of a review of the planning system in Hong Kong.
