Abstract
In a very short time the islands of Chek Lap Kok and Lam Chau, off Lantau Island, have been transformed into one of the world's largest construction sites. Work is progressing well on all fronts and the main terminal building is scheduled to become weatherproof by the end of this year. Sixty per cent of the projects on the 1,248 hectare platform are complete, with 16 months still to go before the 24-hour airport opens for business.
