Abstract
In last month's issue Glenn Haley and Geoff Shaw examined the UNCITRAL model law of arbitration. They discussed how the model law was devised to achieve a more satisfactory system of international arbitration by providing uniform rules for adoption world-wide. In part 2 of this articale they sketch arbitration in a number of countries in the Asia/Pacific region and consider whether those countries have or are likely to adopt a version of the model law. Geoff Shaw and Glenn Haley are solicitors working with Messrs McKenna & C. Both have considerable experience in consrtuction and engineering law. The authors gratefully acknowledge the assistance given by McKenna & Co's offices in Tokyo and Singapore and Morris Fletcher & Cross in Australia.
