Abstract
Construction costs vary widely within Asia, sometimes due to cost-effectiveness factors that are beyond the control of the contractor and, most often, for purely normal reasons such as building codes, material availability and construction methods.
In the following presentation, which is the first of two parts, Davis Langdon & Seah Hong Kong managing director and chartered quantity surveyor Bob Newman explores the cost point-of-view pros and cons of using structural steel or reinforced concrete (RC) building frames for buildings in Southeast and East Asia.
