Abstract
The repercussions of the Central and Wanchai Reclamation programme are as enormous as they are diverse. Trying to meet the demands of one area of concern invariably incurs the wrath of those representing another. The planners are in the midst of a physical and logistical juggling act, and in the process of shaping the future of Hong Kong are opening themselves to the understandable concern and criticism of wide-ranging professional, government , business and transportation bodies. The Hong Kong Institute of Architects is one such concerned body, and in August of this year, they submitted their Position Paper to the Town Planning Board to voice their own concerns and recommendations.
