Abstract
B&Q, the mid-end London-based home imporvement giant under the Kingfisher umbrella, has a spanking new store underway in Kowloon Bay, poised to open in April 2007. Last month it opened its 50th store in mainland China. Steve Gilman, B&Q's CEO and Interntional Director, has been with the company for 27 years and is reponsible for developing new markets in Aisa as well as managing B&Q's operations in China, Taiwan, Korea and Koctas in Turkey. He discusses with hinge the potential of the do-it-yourself (DIY) market in Asia, as well as product trends for his groundbreaking megastore in Hong Kong.
