Abstract
A controversial renovation of New York's Museum of Contemporary Arts and Design (formerly the American Craft Museum) will soon be completed. Allied Works Architecture of Oregon, the firm responsible for the project, has endeavoured to bring a new vision and life to the old building, while preserving its iconic presence. The alterations reconnect the 10-storey building with its site and respond to the specific requirements of the new institution.
