Abstract
Turning down Cox's Road, the rush of Jordan suddenly seems more than one block away. It is a quiet street, almost completely residential save for the historic Kowloon Cricket Club. On a block of residential developments, one stands out due to its shining newness, its elaborate street-level facade, and its lush landscaping. This is Carmen's Garden, a recently completed residential complex from RMJM Hong Kong Limited for Eton Properties at 9 Cox's Road. Having won the tender through an invitation-only competition, RMJM had already offered interesting responses to some of Eton's requests, primarily that of offering a street view to all residents. What was ultimately decided upon was a butterfly configuration that solved many of the client's challenges and maximised the 4,126 sq m site area.
