Abstract
The Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects conducted an award competition for 1997. Unlike past programs, the competition this time embraced all aspects of landscape architecture without division into categories and without geographical restrictions. By the deadline, fourteen schemes were received from the participants. The entries were assessed by a five-member panel: Dr Tao Ho, President of HKIA; Miss Ada YK Wong, Member of the Provisional Urban Council; Miss Michelle Leach, Landscape Architect from EDAW; Miss Grace Poon, Senior Landscape Architect with the Housing Department; and Mr Andy Lewis, Senior Landscape Architect with the ArchSD. The Institute's annual dinner was the setting for the awards announcement, where honours were bestowed upon the projects featured here.
