Abstract
Tourism proposals for Hong Kong range from the sublime to the ridiculous. Ideas such as a cable car ride to the Giant Buddha, casino, millennium expo, theme park and film city are just a few of the proposals being banded around as solutions to Hong Kong's ailing tourist industry. Annbel Mackie finds that talk and speculation, rather than action, appear to be the order of the day.
