Abstract
Today's businesses rely increasingly on the distribution of information - to many, information is the business. Understanding the interaction between the information and the building is crucial - structured cabling can go a long way to helping provide effective telephony and computing services in a building.
Flexible infrastructure is key. Technological change must be accounted for from the inception of an office building; it is inefficient to design an office space based on the technology needs of today, or even the next five years. As the usage of technology explodes exponentially, tenants will be increasingly demanding an infrastructure that allows them to use their IT immediately, without having to re-cable their tenant areas, a lengthy and disruptive process.
