Abstract
As part of Building Journal's ongoing examination of environmental issues, we are presenting an edited version of EPD Director Robert Law's end-of-the-year press briefing. Law details many critical aspects of HK's environmental issues; of particular interest to building professionals are the descriptions of fines levied on organisations not in compliance with increasingly strict environmental legislation. The overall message is equally important: if we do not clean up our act, we will become less attractive to businesses seeking office space in the SAR. Law's message is that clean air = good business.
