Abstract
As a result of the handover of the sovereignty of Hong Kong from Britain to China, many buildings that are regarded as overtly 'colonial' have been, or are going to be demolished - including the Prince of Wales Building at the Tamar Basin and a number of barracks across the territory. The Gun Hill Club Barracks playgournd, which has entertained the British military for many years, is to suffer the same fate and is to be replaced by a new, fully-equipped, martial building, the Military Hospital.
