Abstract
What do law firms remind you of? Ditza Ally McBeal or the impassioned heroes of The Practice? Law offices set the scene for many popular stories on small and large screen, and set designers create believable backgrounds. But in real life, a world-class law firm requires such a vast amount of detailed design that professional designers must be put on the case. Occupying three and a half floors of Alexandra House, the Linklaters & Alliance office is a prime example of good commercial design. The client's strict and specific requirements were combined with the designer's flair and imagination, resulting in an orthodox yet creative scheme, a credit to Richards Basmajian Limited. 1. Disciplined but flexible 2. Art of communication 3. Fresh yet harmonious colours
