Abstract
The Age Khan's Trust for Culture Programme has been making tremendous inroads into preserving Muslim heritage for almost ten years now. In more recent times the Trust has increasingly lent towards preserving the architectural heritage of predominantly Muslim settlements. The Historic Cities Support Programme is the culmination of this work, co-ordinating the implementation of projects which are aimed at preserving some of the world's most imaginative and inspired architectural designs. Simon Pitman investigates the foundation's work and some of its projects.
