Abstract
With a fifth terminal in the pipeline for London's Heathrow Airport, planners are encountering resistance from environmental lobbyists and local residential groups, and are finding the increasing space demanded by security and other requirements at a premium. Robert O'Connor takes a look at some of the problems associated with designing and building a modern airport terminal.
