Abstract
UK specialist marine contractor Seacore's successful drilling of two huge sewage outfall shafts in Hong Kong should provide engineers with the confidence to use the large-diameter hole drilling technique on a deverse range of other projects. Seacore, working from a jackup barge shanding in 30m of water, accurately bored the 4.1m diameter blind and partially cased holes 70m deep into the seabed, predominantly through hard granite, in a single pass.
