Abstract
The Hong Kong Institute of Architects has announced its Annual Awards 1999. Five projects were awarded in total, with Anthony Ng Architects taking the Silver Medal for Tung Chung Crescent. Chosed from 36 Silver Medal entires and 11 submissions for the President's Prize for smaller works, the selected projects demonstrate the variety of forward-thinking and responsive designs carried out by local architects today. In his message on the announcement of the winners, HKIA President Barry Fegan Will said: "Although the whole of the building industry has suffered dramatic problems over the past year these outstanding buildings show the good design overcomes all adversities and that members of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects are more than capable of designing for the future."
